Red Cliffs Lodge Movie Museum

Hollywood's history in Moab.

Even if this is your first visit to Utah, chances are that you've been to Moab before, at least in the movies. Utah's western heritage has played a tremendous role in the movie industry. From big Westerns like Rio Grande and The Commancheros to modern favorites like City Slickers and Thelma & Louise, Moab's natural beauty has been the backdrop for dozens of movies, TV series, commercials and magazine ads.

John Wayne himself is just one of the many famous actors to work on location here at Red Cliffs Lodge. Paying tribute to this impressive legacy is the Moab Museum of Film and Western Heritage, perhaps the first museum of its kind in Utah. You'll learn about famous Southern Utah locations, how sets are built, and how moviemakers manage nature unpredictability during filmmaking.
